Issue – Washer Not Draining

The washer filled and started the wash cycle normally, but it stopped before completing the cycle because the water could not drain. Water remained inside the drum and the machine displayed a drainage-related error code.

Diagnosis

Inspection of the drainage system confirmed that the drain pump assembly had failed. The internal impeller was no longer moving water effectively, which prevented the washer from draining and completing the cycle.

Repair Performed

To restore proper drainage, we accessed the lower sump area and replaced the faulty drain pump assembly. We also cleared debris from the drain housing before testing the washer through a full cycle.

  • Removed front panel to access lower sump area
  • Replaced failed drain pump assembly
  • Cleared debris from drain housing
  • Reassembled washer components
  • Tested full drain and spin cycle

Result

The washer now drains properly and completes cycles without interruption. Drain pump failures are one of the most common issues in front-load washers and are often caused by debris, coins, lint buildup, or normal wear over time.
