Frigidaire Built-In Double Oven Repair
This built-in Frigidaire double oven repair came through our Mississauga appliance repair team, servicing a customer in Etobicoke. The call came after ongoing oven issues that had been put off for a while, but with the holidays approaching, it was no longer something the homeowner could ignore.
One oven was no longer reaching the correct temperature, while the second had been unreliable for over a year — extremely slow preheat and unstable cooking performance. Up until now, they had been managing with just one cavity.
This repair required full removal of the built-in unit and separate faults were found in each oven cavity.
Issue – Double Oven Not Heating Properly
The customer was dealing with two different issues in the same appliance. One oven could not reach proper baking temperature at all. The second would eventually heat, but preheat times were extremely long and temperature stability was poor.
With both ovens underperforming, cooking became unreliable — especially when both cavities were needed.
First Visit
During the initial service call, our technician confirmed that proper diagnosis wasn’t possible with the oven still installed. Because this was a built-in double unit, it needed to be fully removed from the cabinetry to safely access internal components.
We scheduled a follow-up visit with two technicians to complete the diagnosis properly.
Diagnosis
Once the unit was removed and tested, we identified separate failures in each oven:
- Failed bake element in one cavity
- Faulty convection fan in the second cavity
This combination explained the symptoms — one oven couldn’t generate enough heat, while the other struggled with airflow and temperature consistency.
Repair Performed
Both required parts were available through our suppliers, allowing us to proceed without delays. The repair was scheduled and completed within a few days.
- Completed initial inspection and confirmed need for full access
- Removed built-in oven safely with two technicians
- Diagnosed bake element failure
- Diagnosed faulty convection fan
- Sourced required parts
- Installed components and reassembled unit
- Tested both ovens through full operation cycles
Result
Both oven cavities are now operating properly again. The unit heats evenly, preheats normally, and maintains stable temperatures during cooking. The customer now has full use of both ovens again, without the inconsistencies they had been dealing with.
