Cracked Glass Cooktop Replacement – Saved from Full Replacement
This repair involved an electric stove with a shattered glass cooktop after the customer accidentally dropped a heavy object on it. Although the damage looked severe, the internal components were still intact.
Issue – Shattered Glass Cooktop
The stove’s ceramic glass cooktop cracked after impact from a heavy object. While the surface was visibly damaged and unsafe to use, the internal heating elements and wiring were still functioning properly.
Diagnosis
We inspected the appliance and confirmed that the burners, electrical connections, and control system were fully operational. The damage was limited to the glass surface, which meant the appliance could be repaired without replacing the entire stove.
Repair Performed
After confirming the internal components were intact, we sourced the correct replacement glass cooktop through one of our trusted suppliers. We then removed the damaged surface and installed the new cooktop panel, restoring the appliance to proper working condition.
- Inspected heating elements and wiring
- Confirmed internal components were intact
- Sourced correct replacement glass cooktop
- Removed shattered cooktop surface
- Installed and tested new glass cooktop
Result
The stove was fully restored to like-new condition. Although replacing a glass cooktop is not inexpensive, it is still significantly more cost-effective than replacing the entire appliance. It also avoids discarding a perfectly functional stove.
