Here are the questions Electrolux owners in Southern Ontario ask us most, with straight answers from our technicians:

What do E10, E20 and E40 mean on an Electrolux washer?
These are the three codes we see most on Electrolux front-loaders. E10 is a fill problem — the washer isn’t getting enough water, so check both taps and the inlet hoses first; if they’re fine, the inlet valve or, on SmartBoost models, the premix solenoid has failed. E20 (or E21) is a drain timeout, and the fix is usually the coin-trap filter behind the lower front panel — coins, hair pins and lint jam the pump. E40 or E41 means the door lock never registered closed; if the door is shut and latched, the lock assembly needs replacing.

My Electrolux washer shows E13 or E90. Is that serious?
E13 means water was detected in the base — a leak from a hose, pump seal or the door boot. Stop using the washer and have the source found. E90 is a communication fault between the control board and the motor or drive board; it’s often a loose connector, but on older units it can mean a failed board. Both need a technician with a meter, not a reset.

Why is my Electrolux dryer running but not heating, or showing E64?
E64 points to the heating element or its wiring — a broken coil or a burnt connector at the element. If there’s no code and no heat, the thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat has usually opened because of restricted airflow. On these dryers we always clean the internal lint path and the vent on the same visit, because a restricted vent is what caused the fuse to blow in the first place and will do it again.

My Electrolux French-door fridge isn’t cooling or the ice maker stopped. What’s typical?
Electrolux’s in-door ice makers are the most frequent complaint we see on these fridges — the fill tube freezes, or the ice maker and its door heater fail. For cooling problems, the usual causes are a failed defrost system icing over the evaporator, a stuck damper between freezer and fresh-food sections, or a control board fault. The compressor is rarely the problem. We test the cheaper causes first and we’re ODP certified if sealed-system work is needed.

What do i20, i30 or iF0 mean on an Electrolux dishwasher?
Electrolux and Frigidaire dishwashers share the same “i” codes. i20 (and i40) is a drain fault — clogged filter, blocked hose or a failed drain pump. i30 means water in the base pan has triggered the leak sensor; the dishwasher will keep pumping until the pan is dry and the leak is fixed. iF0 is a fill timeout — the inlet valve or the float switch. Older Electrolux dishwashers also commonly lose the wash pump motor, which sounds like a hum with no spray.

Are Electrolux parts still available in Canada?
Mostly yes. Electrolux and Frigidaire share the same parent company and much of the same parts catalogue, so pumps, valves, elements, door locks and control boards for current models are readily available. The exception is the discontinued Electrolux ICON and some older Wave-Touch/IQ-Touch models, where certain control panels and ice maker assemblies are no longer made. We check availability by your exact model number before recommending a repair, so you never pay for a diagnosis that leads nowhere.

Is it worth repairing an Electrolux appliance?
For laundry and dishwashers, usually yes — the typical failures (pump, valve, door lock, element) are inexpensive parts. Electrolux built-in and counter-depth refrigerators are worth repairing because replacements are costly and cabinetry-dependent. Where we’ll tell you to stop is a discontinued control board on an old ICON unit or a sealed-system failure on a basic freestanding fridge. You’ll know before any work starts.

My Electrolux is under manufacturer warranty. Should I call you?
Call Electrolux first. Warranty repairs must go through an Electrolux-authorized servicer or the manufacturer voids coverage. Pegasus is an independent repair company and handles out-of-warranty service. Once your warranty has ended, we’re typically faster to schedule than the authorized network.
