Diagnosis confirmed that a worn bake element was preventing the oven from heating properly.
Issue – Oven Not Heating Properly
The customer was experiencing a problem with the oven’s main heating system. The oven was not producing the proper heat needed for normal baking.
When an oven has trouble heating, the cause can involve several components, including the bake element, temperature sensor, wiring, or electronic controls. Proper diagnosis is important before replacing any parts.
Diagnosis
Our technician inspected and tested the oven’s heating system to determine why it was not operating correctly.
The diagnosis confirmed that the bake element was worn and no longer functioning properly. The bake element provides the primary heat from the bottom of the oven during a standard bake cycle, so a failing element can cause poor heating, slow preheating, or an oven that does not reach the selected temperature.
- Inspected the oven heating system
- Tested the bake function
- Checked the bake element and related connections
- Confirmed the bake element was worn and faulty
- Recommended replacement of the bake element
Repair Performed – Bake Element Replacement
To restore proper oven operation, the faulty bake element was removed and replaced with the correct replacement component.
- Removed the worn bake element
- Installed the replacement bake element
- Checked the electrical connections
- Tested the oven after installation
- Confirmed proper heating operation
Result
After the bake element replacement, the oven was tested and proper heating operation was restored.
The completed repair is covered by a 30-day warranty.
This repair is also a good example of why an oven that is not heating properly does not automatically mean the entire appliance needs to be replaced. A failed heating component can often be identified and replaced once the actual cause is diagnosed.
